What We Believe
The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10 - Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. ; Acts 2:42 - And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. The phraseology employed in this Statement is not inspired nor contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it covers all Biblical truth, only that it covers our need as to these fundamental doctrines. What we believe
ASSEMBLIES OF GOD STATEMENT OF FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS
Victory Assembly of God of Carrolton began as Carrollton Christian Fellowship – an outreach of Christian Life Cathedral on Sunday, December 4, 1998. Twenty-five people were in attendance. Led by Pastor Bob Weis, the ministry began meeting at 1735 Peters Colony, Carrollton, in a building owned by the North Texas District of the Assemblies of God.
In 1993, Carrollton Christian Fellowship became an independent body and assumed all financial responsibility and ownership of the building at Peters Colony. In March 1995, a local developer offered Carrollton Christian Fellowship 18 acres of land as a charitable donation. In preparation for building an edifice on the property, the building on Peters Colony was sold, and the church began holding services at the American Indoor Sports Facility. A groundbreaking ceremony for constructing a 15,970-square-foot worship facility on Hebron Parkway was held on August 21, 2000. The congregation voted to change the church’s name to Victory Assembly of God Carrollton in 2001. The first service was held in the new building on September 16, 2001.
In December 2009, Pastor Bob resigned after 21 years of ministry. In June 2010, the congregation welcomed Pastor Max Docuson and his family from Sulfur, Louisiana, to the church. Under Pastor Max’s leadership, Victory Assembly has grown spiritually, physically, and financially. The ministry has expanded to give 10% of all monies taken in for the support of several local and foreign missions. With an emphasis on the command given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, evangelism is integral to Victory’s endeavors. Victory Assembly is a church that is multi-cultural and generational. Living out the Word of God, Victory is a place where all are welcome, and the love of God abounds.
Pastor Max, and his lovely wife Melody are originally from Sulphur, Louisiana. After serving seven ½ years as the Senior Pastor of the Celebration Worship Center in Sulphur, Louisiana, they came to Victory Assembly in May 2010 excited about what God was going to do. That excitement and sense of anticipation has not waned.
A dynamic preacher and teacher of God’s Word, Pastor Max leads by example. His love for mankind and sincere desire to serve the Lord in whatever way possible is evident in all he does. With a strong sense of evangelism, Pastor Max exemplifies 2 Peter 3:9, trusting and believing that if he does his part, the Holy Spirit will do the rest. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, a Master of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Christian Bible College and Seminary.
Melody, who is a Permanent Professional Certified Member of the Music Teachers National Association, is an accomplished classical pianist. She holds an associate degree in Church Music, and a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. A powerful prayer warrior, she stands by her husband’s side as they work together to upbuild the Kingdom of God.
Pastor Max and Melody have one son, Michael.
